High purity Iron Carbide Powder Fe3C known as cementite used for steelmaking
Brief Description of Iron Carbide Powder
Iron carbide is the highest quality iron feed for steelmaking.
Iron carbide is a dense, heavy, granular compound composed of iron and carbon.
Its chemical formula is Fe3C. Its appearance is similar to black sugar, and its properties are highly favorable for steelmaking.
It is a hard, brittle material, normally classified as a ceramic in its pure form, and is a frequently found and important constituent in ferrous metallurgy .
While iron carbide is present in most steels and cast irons, it is produced as a raw material in the iron carbide process, which belongs to the family of alternative ironmaking technologies.
Pure form of Iron Carbide Powder
Cementite changes from ferromagnetic to paramagnetic at its Curie temperature of approximately 480 K.
A natural iron carbide (containing minor amounts of nickel and cobalt) occurs in iron meteorites
As carbon is one of the possible minor light alloy components of metallic planetary cores, the high-pressure/high-temperature properties of cementite (Fe3C) as a simple proxy for cohenite are studied experimentally.
The figure shows the compressional behaviour at room temperature.

Storage conditions of Iron Carbide Powder
Iron carbide particle should be sealed and stored in a dry and cool environment.
It should not be exposed to the air for a long time, to prevent agglomeration due to moisture, affecting the dispersion performance and use effect, and should avoid heavy pressure, do not contact with oxidant, and transport according to ordinary goods.
